The Lymphedivas Story

Rachel Levin TroxellThe story of Lymphedivas started in Philadelphia, USA, when 2 young survivors of Breast Cancer, Rachel Troxell and Robin Miller, developed Lymphoedema as a side effect of the treatments they were given. With permanent swelling in the arms, they visited their physicians who recommended compression sleeves as the best method to control this. When they researched their options for sleeves, they were frustrated to find that the only ones available were rough textured, heavy, hot, bandage-like and beige. They decided to meet fashion designer, Kristin Dudley to discuss their ideas of creating more elegant, comfortable sleeves that would offer a choice to people with Lymphoedema in the arms.

In late 2007, Robin left the company and soon after Rachels Breast Cancer had returned. She continued to push Lymphedivas whilst having her treatment, as this gave her much joy during a difficult time. Sadly, Rachel died early 2008, at the age of 37. Her determination and compassion to improve the lives of other Breast Cancer survivors is very much ingrained in the heart and soul of the company.

At Rachels request, her Mother and Father took over the responsibility of running the company and in August 2010, Rachels little brother, Josh Levin, joined the company and is now running Lymphedivas as a family-run business. They all hope that Lymphedivas compression garments will continue to inspire Breast Cancer survivors worldwide, to feel as beautiful, strong and confident as Rachel was.
